Hello beloved community gardeners,
Despite the snow on the ground, it is just about spring garden season and soon we will have blooms brightening our neighborhood. It is time to ramp up for the garden season.
Most garden beds have been assigned at this point. Right now we still have two unassigned beds, but two folks are on the waitlist and two folks have asked for second beds. We have four new gardeners joining us this year. If you're not sure which bed is yours, please let me know.
Plots remain $20 per season. This might have to go up at some point, but let's keep a good thing going. Let me know if you an adjustment to the plot fee is helpful for your household right now. Some smaller beds also pay a reduced fee, you know who you are. Fees can be paid to me in person or venmo'd to @Phil-Rooney-2
The community garden agreement can be filled out online. I'll also work to get some paper copies in the shed. Please fill out the agreement and pay the fee prior to gardening.
I plan to be out in the garden every Thursday from 4:30-6:00pm starting this week, April 3rd, to do collective projects. I would love to see you faces and welcome your hands to join the work. We've got some board replacement to do, some spring clean up, and labelling the beds. If you have ideas for projects or improvements I'm happy to support you!
It would be super awesome if someone(s) would be interested in putting together weekend community garden workdays. I'd be happy to support these events, but don't have the capacity to organize it right now. If you would like to take this on, please give me a holler!
See you in the garden! Warmly,
Phil
