Tidying of the back garden

We started cleaning up the back area/pile and it's looking great!  It may seem a bit odd to place your organic matter in the garden walkway but that is what we are asking you to do instead of starting a pile next to the compost bin and not even putting it into the compost bin.

The compost bins can only have an organic matter which is the size, length, and width of a banana. Anything larger takes too long for our city community garden compost to break down. So we ask that you please place these items in the walkway. The back piles attract wildlife and also neighboring folk sees it as an opportunity to place their yard organic matter in the community garden.

The cleaner we have the community garden the more our community will have respect for it. We need your help with this job! Please, pick up trash and pull a weed as you work on your plot. If someone forgets what size of organic matter to place in the compost bins or starts a pile next to the compost bins, please, pick it up after them and remove it.  We are a community let's help each other out with a gentle reminder to another gardener of how we are doing our best to keep the garden sustainable and clean.

We are going to tidy up more in the back this coming Wednesday around 5 pm, JOIN us! we will also be removing the grapevine and burdock invasive weeds. If you see one of these weeds next to your plot please pick it, roots and all, and leave it to lay to decompose.
