Fall Cleaning

I hope everyone will get a chance to enjoy this warm sun today! I'll soon be in the garden to do more cleaning and seed some spinach! Yes, spinach will grow in the early winter cold temperatures.

As I was working in the garden yesterday I thought of some useful ways we all as a community can contribute to keep the garden as sustainable as possible.

Fall clean up sure can build a big pile in the compost. Some of you may remember last spring clean up and the large pile we had.
1.) Please, make sure anything you place in the compost bin is 4" or smaller in length and width. If cutting your organic matter is not possible PLEASE, place it in one of the city compost-able bags and place it next to the shed and not in the  compost bins!
2.)Please, no weed no seeds in the compost
3.) Please, no diseased plants
4.) Please, no tomatoes or vine crops
If cutting your organic matter is not possible PLEASE, place it in one of the city compost-able bags and place it next to the shed and not in the compost bin!

*If you use the bags and they are getting down to the end, please let me know so I can pick more up. An email or text message 612.554.6656

Thank you for all you do to contribute to keeping the garden as sustainable as possible!
