Our goal is to not have a pile in the garden/next to the compost at all. LET'S NOT MAKE A PILE OF OUR SPRING GARDEN MATTER NEXT TO THE COMPOST BINS.
LET'S PLACE IT ON THE GARDEN WALKWAY AND IN BETWEEN PLOTS.
-When cleaning your plot, please place your organic matters on the walkway or in the space between the plots.
- The compost bins can not break down anything larger than a 2" dimension.
- If it's larger than 2", please place it in the walkway, for mother nature will break it down best.
-We are not sure if every gardener is reading this blog, so if you see a gardener placing matter into the compost that is larger than a 2" dimension, please just remind them that it's best to be placed in the walkway for it breaks down better and helps keep weeds down.
-The 3437 garden is not a place for neighbors or your own yard organic matter. You may place your kitchen compost in it but not year waste. If you see a neighbor dumping their yard waste, please, kindly remind them this is a community garden and is only for the 3437 community garden waste. If they do not stop, we ask that you call the city at #311 and report this. We need everyone's help to let the city know we are trying to keep the garden area clean but may need their help at times. You can keep your name anonymous.
