Hello, 3437 Comunity Gardeners,
We hope everyone is getting ready for spring! It has to come one of these days... We are so thankful for everyone's support through the last couple of years with the 3437 Community Garden!
Last year's support with managing the garden has shown us that the garden is a COMMUNITY, and we would like to have up to two/or three people supporting the management of 3437 Community Graden for the 2022 summer again. This brings more of a community feel for us all. The last couple of years, we have had a fantastic team! A big thank you to everyone who put in an extra hand and TLC for the garden and the community!
A shout-out to Janet! Janet has been a big part of this community and donated many annual/perennial native flowers and herbs to the garden!

Co-managing roles:
(all this is also done as a community during our once week meet-ups, spring and fall clean-ups in the garden)
1.) meet once a week in the garden for TLC of the garden.
2.) picking weeds and trash, keeping rain barrels full, cleaning up the shed
3.) Keep an eye on the organic matter placed in the compost. Turn as needed. Pick up coffee grounds from MayDay to feed the worms.
4.) spread the pile of sticks, leaves, and more extensive organic matter not placed in the compost onto the walking path to be broken down naturally.
5.)plant perennials as they get donated
6.) water as needed
7.) between the three of us, we will take turns attending the weekly work evenings/mornings. This is flexible and open to change as needed.
8.) post on the blog. Written, a video shared links, etc.
9.) support new gardeners' questions. -using email, blog, phone
10.) help rent out plots, update the map on the blog, and gather the rent money.
We would love to have new ideas for the garden as well! How can we keep it sustainable, community-based, and funded to keep it a beautiful part of our Powderhorn Park neighborhood?
